creative. refreshing. expression.
It's hard trying to describe yourself in a few sentences or paragraphs, so I'll give you the highlights. I graduated from college with a B. A. in English and Journalism almost 20 years ago! A lot has changed since then, but writing has been a constant in my life.
I love words and started out writing make-believe stories in my bedroom when I was a little girl. In high school, I was a reporter for the newspaper. In college, I worked on the UALR Forum newspaper staff.
While I was in college, I landed a technical writing job with some cool people at Leisure Arts. That work has been published in more than two dozen traditional books including Christmas Cheer, In the Nick of Time, Flea Market Finds and The Spirit of Christmas.
Since then, I embarked upon a freelance career.
I consider myself lucky to have been able to find work that allows me to help others.
For a few years, I served as Educational Programs Coordinator at a local homeless shelter, which was a wonderful experience. That position involved quite a bit of work, but one of the main objectives was to create curriculum for adult learners. Most of what I wrote revolved around learning about computers and computer applications that included Computer Basics, Learning to Use the Internet, Understanding Microsoft Office and more.
Freelancing allows me to cover a wide range of topics, which means
there's never a dull moment. I write about politics, fitness, health, home decor
and just about everything else.
I love researching and learning, which always helps fuel and inspire
the writing process.
In my spare time, I work on fiction.
I love stringing words together
and would love to work with you on your next project.
